Computer-based Training (CBT)/Web-based Training (WBT)

Sharpshooter Training applies the ISD / SAT methodology to analyze the subject matter and target audience to determine what must be trained and how it can best be trained.  We do more than convert existing paper-based training materials to the web.  We do more than present gratuitous graphics heavy on the ‘bells and whistles’.  We develop engaging, highly interactive, job-realistic, performance-based training delivered via computer – that actually trains.

Principals of Sharpshooter Training have developed the following programs:

Watercraft Operator

Analysis, design, and development of 91 hours of web-based training supporting watercraft operation including deck maintenance, shipboard operations, navigational calculations and mathematics, visual communication, and marlinespike seamanship.  Performance-based scenarios simulating the job environment allowed students to actually perform many of the tasks of a watercraft operator.

Armament Repair

Analysis, design, and development of 53 hours of web-based training supporting maintenance of the M1A1 Abrams tank, Bradley Fighting Vehicle, and M1098 Howitzer.  Engaging, interactive scenarios mimic job performance for operating test equipment, researching technical manuals, and setting vehicle controls, switches, and buttons in a realistic 3D environment.

Intermediate Range Safety

Analysis, design, and development of 3 hours of computer-based training supporting use of an automated surface danger zone (SDZ) tool.  The courseware simulates the software in a seamless environment as if the student were actually employing the SDZ tool on the web.

Defend A Convoy Against Attack

Analysis, design, and development of 3 hours of computer-based training focused on defending a convoy against ambush and attacks from the air, artillery, NBC, and snipers.

Small Arms/Artillery Repairer

Analysis, design, and development of 30 hours of web-based training supporting the maintenance of artillery and small arms weapons.  The courseware includes performance-based, interactive scenarios that mimic job performance for troubleshooting and determining corrective actions.

Dining Services Management

Analysis, design, and development of 32 hours of computer-based training supporting unit dining management services.

Force Protection/Antiterrorism

Analysis, design, and development of 3 hours of computer-based training supporting Level III Force Protection/Antiterrorism.  In a series of role-playing scenarios, the student reviews his assets and potential threats in a 3D environment and makes decisions regarding the command’s security posture.
